Music is the Focus in Albany this WeekendAlbany- This weekend, about 10,000 people are expected to hit downtown Albany for a huge music conference.
Prominent music industry and business professionals will be in town for the 1st Southwest Georgia Radio and Music Conference at the Hilton Garden Inn. It will give South Georgians insight into the music business.
"Because there are a lot of talented artists in Albany and the music industry is very lucrative. It's a very financially lucrative industry but if that business is not set up and formatted properly, the money is going to pretty much pass right through. It's like going fishing and having a hole in the bottom of your net," said Marketing Director Antonio Richardson.
A big focus of the conference will be how to make money online since internet music publishing is a wave of the future. Dougherty County students submitted essays and winners will present them essays at the conference.
